  •  2007-2008 Co-VP James Monroe Elementary School, Everett
  • 2010-2012 Communications Chair, SWE
  • 2012-2013 Co-Social Chair, SWE
  • 2013-2014 Co-VP, SWE

I’ve lived in Duvall since June 2008.  I have three sons:  Drew, a 16-year-old CHS junior; Spencer, an 8th grader at Tolt Middle School; and Riley, a 2nd grader here at Stillwater Elementary.  I’ve been a member of a PTSA since 2002.  I’m a member of the PTSA’s at SWE, Tolt Middle School, and CHS.  I served on many committees such as Dads & Donuts, poster making, art docent and carnival.    I love gardening and crafting, mostly card making and scrapbooking.  Of course, I love shopping and baking, but I think that goes for almost everyone!

I’ve volunteered in one of my three sons classrooms and chaperoned many field trips.  I love working with the children, whether it is helping them learn to read or listening to them talk about themselves.  Kids just need someone to listen and care.  I’m not about politics, I’m about directly enriching the children’s educations and well being.

Serene Norris – Co-President Nominee

sereneHello my name is Serene Norris, I have two sons, Cade who is 12 and Colt who is 6. I will be at Stillwater for 12 years total when my boys finish elementary. I joined the Stillwater PTA when Cade was in second grade and was involved for four years. I have taken the last two years off to adjust to middle school and elementary school as well as running my business. During my time in PTA I was the Legislative chair for two years, then Fundraiser chair and Vice President for one year each. I have been a part of many positive changes and one I am particularly proud of is the Stillwater Garden Project where I wrote grants for funds to build the raised garden bed and ordered/purchase/install the green house. I had an amazing group of volunteers make that project come to fruition. When I do volunteer work I do it because I love it and I feel Julie Logan and I will make a great team because she loves it too. Thank you for your consideration.

Gayle Saunders – Co-Vice President Nominee

gayleMy name is Gayle Saunders and I am currently one of your PTSA Co-VPs.  I love working with the PTSA and being involved in all our activities.  It is such a great way to connect with both the staff and parents I would normally not get to meet.  I have a 3rd grader in Mrs. Farnworth’s 3rd grade class, volunteer in her classroom once a week and am also an Art Docent for both a 2nd and 3rd grade class.  I am also a huge fan of the LRC and will be chairing the Scholastic Book Fair in the Fall.  Along with my school volunteering I love to read, travel, make cards and scrapbook, and be crafty.  If I didn’t live in WA I would live in the mountains of northern WY.

Secretary

Noel Caryl

noelMy name is Noel Caryl and I’m running for PTSA Secretary.  This will be the second year I am seeking the position of secretary and I would feel honored to serve on the PTSA Board for one more year.  I enjoy being a part of an organization where the primary focus is being a voice for our children and working with a dedicated group of parents.  I have been a member of PTSA and volunteered at Stillwater for the past 8 years.  This will be my last year as a Stillwater parent and would like to continue to be an integral part of what happens at Stillwater.

Treasurer

Lynda Brown – Co-Treasurer Nominee

I have been the acting Treasurer for the PTSA for this current school year, from fiscal year beginning 7/1/2013 to present. I have a strong accounting background having worked in a CPA firm several years back, and have managed capital and operating budgets in a financial services company for many years. I manage the financial books for the business my husband and I co-own. I’m familiar with the tax laws governing not-for-profit corporations. I enjoy being involved in the school activities and volunteering when/where I can. This role affords me the opportunity to do that in a very tangible way, and keeps me close the planning and decision-making process as well. I’m happy to continue to support the PTSA at Stillwater in the year ahead.
