Stillwater Hop-a-thon

When: Wednesday, November 8th during specialist class time

Where: Stillwater Gym

Who: All Stillwater Hawks

What: The Hop-a-Thon is a 100% Donation Based Fundraiser and our largest one of the year! All profits raised go directly to the PTSA to benefit our students and school.

Goal: The suggested minimum fundraising goal per student is $35. The school goal is $13,000! We can do it! We made over $16,000 last year during the Hop-a-Thon!

  • Every classroom has been assigned a class goal based off of the number of kids in each class. Every class that reaches their goal will earn an Ice Cream Party! Special consideration will be made for those all-star students that go above and beyond but the class does not reach the goal.
  • The top earner in each grade AND a wild card guest per grade randomly selected from a pool of students who fundraised the minimum amount of $35 will be invited to a Breakfast with the Principal event. Mr. Madigan will serve each student a tasty breakfast with pancakes, bacon and sausage. Yum!
  • The top 2 earners in each grade will earn a spot to compete against staff in a Human Tic-Tac Toe Relay at the spirit assembly on November 15th. If the students win, the entire school will earn an extra recess! If a top earner does not want to compete in the Human Tic-Tac Toe Relay, they can choose a friend to do it for them.

  • Every student that raises $35 or more, which is the suggested minimum, will be entered into a drawing on Tuesday, November 14th to win fun prizes, including a ticket to win a treat for you and a friend at lunch and a ticket for leading the Harvest Festival Parade in 2018.
  • And last but certainly not least…if the school hits the $13,000 goal, Mr. Madigan will BRING BACK EGG HEAD* at the spirit assembly on November 15th. Every student that collects ANY amount of donations will be able to sign-up** for a chance to be one of three students randomly selected to compete against Mr. Madigan! The winners will be announced on the morning announcements on November 14th– parents will then need to confirm their child’s participation (as long as the school achieves the $13,000 goal). *Egg Head is a game where each contestant takes turns selecting an egg from a carton of 12: some are hard boiled and some are raw. Once the egg is selected, the contestant smashes it on their own forehead. Whoever smashes 2 raw eggs on their forehead first loses the game. **Students can sign-up for a chance to win by completing an Egg Head Permission Slip, these will be available in the front office and online. The Permission Slips will be due by Monday, November 13th.

Important Logistics:

  • Fundraising envelopes (and online donations) can be turned in anytime between Friday, October 27th and Wednesday, November 8th. Any donations received AFTER 4:00 PM on November 8th will not be counted towards the prize totals.
  • Envelopes will not be given back to the students once they are turned in, so make sure your donations are complete or you will have to send in any additional donations in a regular envelope marked with your child’s name, teacher and grade.
  • Please check our Facebook page daily to see the progress of classroom goals and the overall school goal. You can find our group on Facebook under the name Stillwater Elementary PTSA.
  • While corporate matching is an integral part of our fundraising strategy plan, because we do not receive the matching funds until well after the event is over, we do not count promised corporate matching funds towards the top earner numbers, classroom or school goals.

When your sponsors ask what the donations will be used for, you can use the information below to tell them about all the activities that the PTSA provides to Stillwater. A full breakdown of our budget and fundraising strategy can also be found online on our website at Here are just some of the programs we support:

  • Field Trip Stipends for ALL Grades
