2024 – 2025 Reflections Theme……. Accepting Imperfections

Students let’s see your creativity! This year’s Reflections theme is “Accepting Imperfection”. Information for each category is available in the links below. Entries must be turned into the front office by Wednesday, October 16th.

Students submit their completed works of art in one or more of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. While the primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity through positive recognition, finalists from local PTAs will move on to their council PTA (if applicable), then finalists from councils will move on to the state round. Washington State PTA finalists who receive an “Outstanding Interpretation” award will advance to the National PTA round.

Young artists get involved by contacting their local PTA leaders. The deadline for turning in artwork to your local PTA will typically be in late autumn. Local PTAs and councils can choose to accept physical entries or virtual. Only virtual submissions will be sent to the WSPTA level for judging.

All skill levels are encouraged to participate. How you choose to interpret the theme is completely up to you! We look forward to seeing and celebrating what you are hopeful for.

Give your artwork a meaningful title, make sure that you complete the entire form, including signature’s, and that you have a solid artist statement. The artist statement is an important piece and should explain how your art ties to the theme “Accepting Imperfection” You could share what inspired you, and what materials you used.

The due date is Wednesday, October 16th. Students submit their completed art and entry form to the front office.

Theme Search for 2025-2026

Each year, the National PTA seeks a theme for the Reflections program year to be held two years from now. The list of finalists for the 2025-2026 program year will be announced in November.

The student who submits the winning entry will receive $100. Their theme will be presented at the annual National PTA Convention in June 2024. Click here for a list of past themes.
