November Volunteer of the Month – Laura Plude
Laura was nominated by Ashley Riese, in addition to being voted on by the PTSA Board of Directors. Here is what Ashley had to say about Laura.
Per Ashley, “Laura is a rockstar in the office during her weekly volunteer time! She volunteers in all 3 of her kiddos classrooms weekly! I also had the pleasure of helping her with the staff appreciation cart and not a detail was missed! That’s only the things I see and know about… I am sure there are many other volunteer hours she is clocking behind the scenes too! So thankful for all the time and dedication she gives to our Stillwater community!”
Laura and her husband, Matt, have three children, Owen age 8 and twin daughters Sam and Brooke age 5.
Laura has been volunteering at Stillwater for four years and she really loves being part of Staff appreciation as it’s important to her that the staff know how thankful she is for all that they do. She also loves getting to go into her children’s classrooms to see what they’re learning and help their teachers however she can.
When she isn’t volunteering, she enjoys going to classes at the gym, coffee dates with friends, and listening to all her favorite true crime podcasts while taking care of household tasks. When we asked Laura why she volunteers, she said “I was a teacher before I had my own kids and know how much time and energy goes into the profession. I volunteer because I want to help make the daily grind easier, because I love being a part of the community and getting to know the staff and students, and because I appreciate everyone that’s helping to educate my children and want to give back to them. I’m grateful for the opportunity!”
Thank you, Laura, for all that you do to support Stillwater and our community!! Congrats on your nomination and win!
