April Volunteer of the Month – Alejandra Schock
Congratulations to our April Volunteer of the Month, Alejandra Schock! Alejandra was nominated by the PTSA Board of Directors. Here is why Alejandra is being recognized:
Alejandra joined as Social Lead in the Fall of this school year assisting with the Back to School Bash. She also single handedly planned the Bingo Night and Spring Dance events. Alejandra carefully thinks through all the details of each event to ensure each one is executed flawlessly. In addition, she is always thinking outside the box to ensure the students have a great time.
Alejandra and her husband Devin have 4 children, Ainsleigh age 7, Torrin age 4, Cambrie age 2 and Zylah due this summer.
This is Alejandra’s first year volunteering at Stillwater. Her favorite volunteer activity has been the Spring dance as it reminds her how easily the kids show up and have a blast. When asked why she volunteers, she said “We had just moved to the area, and I had my first baby going to public school for the first time. I was eager to get involved and be a part of her school world. My mother volunteered my entire education, and I loved having her around here and there. While I continue to do it for those reasons, I came to love the school, community and kids and want to use my experience and creativity to bring them awesome events and fill their year with bits of joy as I am able!
When she isn’t volunteering, she loves raising her little humans, it is all consuming in this season of life and she wouldn’t trade it for the world! Before having their third child she was a pediatric cardiac ICU nurse and absolutely loved what she did! As for leisure activities before children she loved: interior design, reading, cooking, photography, boating, gardening, and trying new workout.
Alejandra and her husband moved their family to this area to give their kids a community and upbringing that was rich, meaningful, and compassionate. They have not regretted it for a second and have found friendship, community, and family focused culture all around. They are so happy to have found their forever spot with their growing family!
