Hop-a-Thon 2018, Record Breaking Year!

Great job Stillwater Hawks, we surpassed our goal of $14,000 for the Hop-a-Thon with a RECORD BREAKING grand total of $32,015.90 (this number includes donations that came in after the event and staff sponsorships). WOW!
We want to thank the five local businesses that sponsored our staff jumps: Local Roots Farm, Casey Davis from Sprute & Davis CPA’s LLC, Gayle Stevens from Remax, Jennifer McGeary from People’s Home Equity and Jen Walker from My Fair Lady Skincare. These businesses all together donated $1,350, way to go staff and thank you sponsors!

We are happy to report the exciting news that thanks to your fundraising efforts, we were able to gift $8,845.70 last week for teacher and school grants!!!! This money will be used to purchase new handheld whiteboards for kindergartners, cube chairs for struggling students, flip forms for the upgraded stairs to stage, new risers, a podium, storage cart, antibullying curriculum, alphabet sounds teaching tubs, teaching easel and bookshelf and a reading and writing training class for a teacher. These were all from grant applications that were submitted to the PTSA in October and November by the staff.
The remaining funds raised go to support the general PTSA budget which has over 100 line items. In addition, we are working towards replacing the large playground structure, a venture that will require several years of savings. This decision was made based on a survey completed last school year where the majority of PTSA members voted to continue gifting staff grants but to also put extra funds raised towards a playground savings line item. Last year we saved $19,000 for the playground!! This year we cannot determine what that number will be until the end of the year when our 4 fundraising events have concluded. Full details on our budget can be found on our website: http://stillwaterptsa.org/ptsa-budget/, including an updade that occurred after our last general meeting on December 4th.
