September Volunteer of the Month – Roxanne Pogue

Congratulations to our September Volunteer of the Month, Roxanne Pogue!

Roxanne was nominated and voted on by the PTSA Board of Directors. Below is why Roxanne is being recognized.

Roxanne is always one of the first people to volunteer for a PTSA event. She is one of our core volunteers that always comes through when needed.  She stepped in to assist with Back to School Bash and Hula, Hop and Hoop assembly.

In addition to volunteering, Roxanne is one of our PTSA Leads managing Procurement. She works with local businesses to secure donations as needed throughout the year. Recently, she partnered with two local farms to acquire 150 pumpkins for our Stillwater students to enjoy at our Monster Mash. Thank you for your constant support Roxanne!!

Roxanne and her husband, Kevin, have three children, Bennett age 7, Ada age 5 and Lydia age 2.

Roxanne has been volunteering at Stillwater for three years. Her favorite activities to date have been the Hawk Walk Assembly when students and staff were slimed, volunteering in her kid’s classrooms, and being an adult for the Stillwater families. She loves them all!

When she isn’t volunteering, she loves travel, hanging out with friends and family and watching ridiculous Bravo shows.  When we asked Roxanne why she volunteers, she said “I volunteer because I want to play an active role in helping sustain the positive community that Stillwater has grown, help make fun PTSA events a core memory for not only my own children but all Stillwater Hawks, and to volunteer in my own kid’s classrooms so that I can get to know them not only as my child but as learners at Stillwater.”

Roxanne also previously worked at another school in the district which she absolutely love and was hesitant about sending her kids to a different school.  Mr. Madigan has shared with Roxanne over the years how incredible the staff, students and community are but she truly did not know how amazing.  It didn’t take long for her kids and whole family to grow a love for this community.  It is a true privilege to send her kids to this school where she knows that they will not only grow as learners but more importantly grow as individuals who are valued.

Thank you, Roxanne, for all that you do to support Stillwater and our community!! Congrats on your nomination and win!
