Reflections Contest Rules & Entry Form
It’s that time of year again, the PTA Reflections student recognition program is here! The deadline to turn in your Reflections art work is quickly approaching! Students of all grades and abilities are encouraged to participate and explore the arts based on the 2016-2017 theme: What Is Your Story?
A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas are:
- Literature — works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.
- Music Composition — original musical composition, with or without words.
- Photography — color or black and white, including techniques: photogram, retouched, montage, sandwich and multiple exposure.
- Visual Arts — drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & t-shirt paints, computer generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling.
- Film/Video — original works, with or without sound, of animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film.
- Choreography/Dance — originally choreographed dance composition.
To enter, please read through the rules for each category (below), complete an art piece or pieces following those rules (one submission per category allowed), fill out the Stillwater Entry Form (below) and turn your art work into the office by October 26th. Here is an important tip, THEME, THEME, THEME! The largest portion of the judges scoring comes from the artist’s interpretation of the theme, remember that when writing the artist statement.
If you have any questions please contact the reflections chair, Ena Rotoli at earotoli@outlook.com or Lindsey Tolson at president@stillwaterptsa.org.
