We wanted to take an opportunity to thank all of the amazing art docents who helped bring the joy of art to Stillwater this year! Thank you for sharing your time and talents with the students, each lesson requires a lot of prep and we appreciate your dedication to the program. From texture burgers to pinch pots, you all helped bring a wide variety of art projects to the school and the students LOVE going to art docent. ❤❤❤
We also want to thank Ulrike Staerk and Amy Pitt who oversaw the Art Docent program. Uli, our Art Education Chair, finalized the curriculum, restocked supplies throughout the year and offered training sessions for the docents. Amy, our kiln lead has become the resident kiln expert at Stillwater. She fired all the clay pieces and also helped run our Pottery Paint Night. They have fun plans for this program next year, integrating clay AND glass into art docent!!! Thank you Uli and Amy for all your hard work supporting this program.
Here is a message Uli wanted to share with the docents, “I would like to thank all the Art Docents who helped with our program this year. Without them, we would not be able to implement this amazing program and give the kids the opportunity to experience art. We have an awesome art teacher, but are helping to supplement her teaching with our lessons.
They all go an extra mile to organize the art docent lessons and prepare and follow up. Standing for hours in the Kiln room and packing the things to give back to children.
Mrs. Mauldin’s comment about Danielle Gilbreath: “She is a Rockstar!” and the same for all our amazing volunteers!
Some even stepped up and took over the art Docent lessons despite their fear of not knowing art and did it anyways!
